Starting from Le Bonatte head into Radda in Chianti, the centre of which is only 1,5 km away.
Radda was in the middle ages the capital of the Chianti League.
The whole of Radda village is very scenic. Some highlights are the beautiful Town Hall, the
San Niccolo church and the Franciscan Convent Santa Maria del Prato.
From Radda you can go to Albola Castle, where you can visit the old cellar and taste Chianti
Classico Wine.
You can continue to Gaiole in Chianti, which is only 10 km away, passing through the
medieval village of Vertine.
In the Giaole area there are many historic castles: Castello di
Brolio, Castello di Cacchiano.
In the other direction from Radda lies Castellina (12km). In Castellina you can visit the
Etruscan tombs and the medieval rocca in the town centre.
